Deseret Land and Livestock (DLL) is a working cattle ranch owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 1983. Along with the cattle operations, DLL provides opportunities for hunting, fishing and bird watching tours. The ranch has allowed a limited number of pioneer treks on DLL land under the condition that they do not negatively impact the operations of the cattle and wildlife programs. Numerous service projects and research studies occur throughout the year and a number of service missionaries serve at DLL by helping in various capacities.
Management of wildlife at DLL principally involves grazing and water resources combined with other tools such as fire and various rangeland manipulations in order to maintain a diversity of habitats that wildlife populations need. Observation of wildlife habits and selected research projects have aided in the continuing process of improving ranch management for the wide variety of species which depend on DLL.
